The Parks and Recreation Department has purchased five (5) library kiosks that will be unveiled each week during the month of March.  The first one was unveiled on the first Friday of the month, March 3, 2023, in front of the Tom Varn Park playground area.  The additional kiosk swill be placed strategically throughout the city and will be dedicated to a Historical Educator who impacted Brooksville/Hernando County.

Following are the dates for the remainder of the kiosk unveilings:

  • Thursday, March 9, 2022 @ 9:00 AM – Russell St. Park, 28 Russell St., Brooksville.
  • Friday, March 17, 2023 @ 8:00 AM – The Brooksville Common, 15 S. Broad St., Brooksville.
  • Friday, March 24, 2023 @ 11:00 AM – Treed lot at 1510 E. Jefferson St., Brooksville. The intersection of Martin Luther King Blvd, and Muhammad Ali Way.
  • Friday, March 31, 2023 @ 11:00 AM – Corner of Darby Lane and Candlelight Lane, Brooksville.

The Parks and Recreation Department is soliciting book donations to stock the kiosks.  Donations may be dropped off at the Jerome Brown Community Center at Tom Varn Park, located at 99 Jerome Brown Place, Brooksville, FL.
