Gus Bilirakis, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 12th district since 2007, recently shared updates on social media highlighting his legislative priorities and community engagements.
On September 4, 2025, Bilirakis posted about the health benefits of dairy products, stating, “On this we can agree—whole milk does a body good! Pass it on!”
The following day, he commented on a meeting with healthcare leadership in his district. On September 5, 2025, he wrote, “It was a pleasure meeting with BayCare CEO Stephanie Conners this week to discuss the outstanding work her team is doing to ensure our community has access to high-quality healthcare options. Their dedication to improving health outcomes truly makes a difference in the lives of”.
Later that same day, Bilirakis referenced ongoing legislative efforts related to student-athletes’ rights. He stated, “My SCORE Act represents a major step forward in ensuring student-athletes are treated fairly, protected, and fully supported—both on and off the field. By establishing clear rights related to Name, Image, and Likeness(NIL), health benefits, and academic support, this legislation”.
Bilirakis has served as the representative for Florida’s 12th congressional district since replacing Michael Bilirakis in 2007. Before joining Congress, he was a member of the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006. Born in Gainesville in 1963 and currently residing in Palm Harbor at age 60, Bilirakis holds degrees from the University of Florida (BA) and Stetson University (JD).
