Gus Bilirakis, U.S. Congressman representing Florida’s 12th district since 2007, has recently highlighted his efforts to support local communities and the manufacturing sector through social media posts. In a series of tweets from September 24 and 25, Bilirakis discussed legislative initiatives and community engagement events in his district.
On September 24, Bilirakis stated, “We are bringing AMERICAN manufacturing jobs back to our communities! The Working Families Tax Cuts saved nearly 6 million manufacturing jobs and more than $1 trillion in U.S. GDP.”
The following day, he shared an update about constituent outreach: “I had a great opportunity to engage with constituents at Sterling Hills in Hernando during my Coffee with Your Congressman series. Their valuable feedback on the challenges facing our community and ideas for how Congress can assist were greatly appreciated.” This tweet was posted on September 25.
Later that same day, Bilirakis commented on a recent event focused on local business leaders: “It was a pleasure to provide a legislative update at this week’s Access East Pasco event held at St. Leo University. I appreciated the opportunity to connect with local business leaders, share recent developments in Congress including ways the Working Families Tax Cuts will help”.
Bilirakis has represented Florida’s 12th District since succeeding Michael Bilirakis in 2007 and previously served in the Florida House of Representatives from 1998 to 2006. He was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1963 and currently resides in Palm Harbor. His educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Florida (1986) and a Juris Doctor degree from Stetson University (1989).
