Gus Bilirakis, a member of the U.S. Congress representing Florida’s 12th district since 2007, has recently shared several updates on social media regarding consumer protection, student nominations, and community engagement. Bilirakis succeeded his father, Michael Bilirakis, in Congress and has been actively involved in various legislative activities.
On June 17, 2025, Gus Bilirakis emphasized the importance of raising awareness to protect consumers from predatory scammers. He stated: “It is important that we raise awareness to help consumers protect themselves from predatory scammers.”
The following day, June 18, 2025, he congratulated several students who received nominations for prestigious military academies. In his tweet he mentioned: “Congratulations to the following students: Andrew William Benjamin (USMMA), Jared Michael Hauschen (USAFA), Tyler James Holmes (USMMA), Draven Shane McCall (USMA), Erin Diane McDermott (USAFA), and Gabriel Amber-Kristina Rogers (USNA). Each received a nomination from me.”
Later on June 18th, Bilirakis expressed gratitude towards constituents who participated in a tele-townhall meeting. He noted the significance of their input by stating: “Thank you to everyone who joined today’s tele-townhall. There were more than 5,000 constituents who participated. It was invaluable to listen directly to your ideas on how we can address the challenges facing our community. Your input helps shape my work in Washington!”
Gus Bilirakis was born in Gainesville, Florida in 1963 and currently resides in Palm Harbor. He graduated with a BA from the University of Florida and later earned a JD from Stetson University.
