The Saint Leo University Women’s swimming team closed out its two-day meet against #5 University of Tampa Sunday, as the Green & Gold fell to the Spartans 145-38 at the Riseman Aquatics Center.

While Lions did not pick up an overall win against #5 University of Tampa Sunday, Junior Isabelle Sering continued to have a strong weekend, making a second, provisional cut with a win in the 100-yard Butterfly (0:55.88).  Sering’s win would be the only one for Saint Leo, however, as the Spartans rebounded from a slow Day One start.

Graduate Vittoria Bonsanti Feniello finished the 200-yard Freestyle with a time of 1:54.84, but this time it was not enough to win the event, as UT’s Sierra Gillan edged out the native of Los Teques, Venezuela by eight-tenths of a second.

The Lions will have a month to prepare for the four-day Spartan Invite, set to take place December 16th at the Long Center in Clearwater, Fla.
