Former Pats Pitchers Watkins and Tulloch Selected in MLB Draft

College of Central Florida issued the following announcement on Aug. 17.

Former Patriots Left Handed Pitchers Chase Watkins and Adam Tulloch were both recently drafted in the 2021 MLB draft. Watkins was taken with the 274th overall pick in the 9th 

round by the Chicago Cubs and Tulloch was taken with the 522nd overall pick in the 17th round by the Los Angeles Dodgers. Both players were members of the 2020 team at the 

College of Central Florida. Watkins continued his career this past season at Oregon State where he pitched 31.1 innings in 25 appearances and had 38 strikeouts while holding 

opponents to a .198 batting average. Tulloch continued his career this past season at West Virginia University where he made 8 starts and struck out 52 batters in 37.1 innings 

carrying a 6.27 ERA. Both lefties were highly scouted prospects at Central Florida during the shortened 2020 season due to COVID-19. Watkins went 4-1 in 5 starts with the 

Patriots. He threw 28.1 innings with 44 strikeouts and a 1.91 ERA. Tulloch made 5 starts and had a 2.88 ERA in 25 innings while striking out 42 batters.
