Edward Waters College Athletics issued the following announcement on Sept. 26.

The good times keep rolling for the Edward Waters women's soccer program, as their program best winning streak grew to four in a row on Saturday afternoon with a 7-2 win over crosstown rival Trinity Baptist in a match held at the Eagle Harbor Soccer Complex.

Edward Waters (5-3) got on the board first early in the contest in the 6th minute of the match when freshman Queen Moore scored off of a Rayven Norman assist to give the visiting Lady Tigers the 1-0 lead.

Just two minutes later in the 8th minute, Moore scored her second of the match with assists to Alisha Jones and Norman, giving the Purple & Orange a 2-0.

In the 22nd minute, sophomore Amy Hernandez scored her eighth goal of the season, making the score 3-0 and just five minutes later in the 27th minute, freshman Ellie Shurman scored to give EWU a commanding 4-0 lead.

Dreams of a clean sheet for Edward Waters were dashed when Trinity Baptist scored in the 36th minute to make it a 4-1 match which is where matters stood at the half.

Trinity Baptist came out with renewed energy, starting the half with a goal in the 49th minute to cut the Lady Tiger lead in half at 4-2.

Edward Waters showed their resolve scoring the last three goals of the match in the 54th minute from Hernandez, 61st minute from Alyha Velazquez Diaz, and Ellie Shurman in the 85th minute to lock up the 7-2 victory at full time.

EWU had the better of the chances in the contest with 32 shots compared to just seven for TBC in the match.

Sheila Pascual recorded one save in the match in the victory.

Edward Waters will welcome Polk State for an exhibition match on Friday, October 1st for an exhibition match at 4:00pm at Glover Field & Stadium.
