3

Saint Leo University Athletics recently issued the following announcement.

The Saint Leo women's soccer team was handed a 3-0 loss on the road at Rollins Wednesday night. The Sunshine State Conference decision kept Rollins undefeated in the league and tallied the host's fourth straight victory.

Saint Leo (1-8-1, 0-4 SSC) was paced by Nina Mueller with a pair of shots. Senior defender Evelina Rosendahl made her way into the Tars' defensive half to also take a crack at Rollins' net.

Despite the efforts, Rollins (5-4, 3-0 SSC) netted an early goal in the eighth minute and extended its lead with two more in the last 15 minutes of action.

Lions' goalkeeper, Maitane Bravo continues to put up big numbers protecting the cage. Bravo earned eight stops after facing 18 shots in 90 minutes of work.

Saint Leo looks forward to returning home on Saturday, October 9 at 7:00 p.m. to host the Buccaneers of Barry.
