Freshman Women's Soccer Trio Receive First Postseason Honors in Program History

Edward Waters College Athletics issued the following announcement on Nov. 17.

A history making year for the Edward Waters Women's Soccer program was capped off with three Lady Tigers receiving the first postseason honors in program history. The 

Continental Athletic Conference (Formerly the Association of Independent Institutions) recognized freshman forward Queen Moore with a Second Team All-Conference selection, 

while both freshman defender Claudia Mate and freshman midfielder Ellie Shurman received Honorable Mention honors.

An Orange Park, Florida native, Queen Moore made an immediate impact in her debut season in Purple & Orange. Moore led the Lady Tigers with 11 goals, totaled 24 points, and 

also recorded two assists on the year. 

Claudia Mate, a native of Cantabria, Spain, served up eight assists for Edward Waters in 2021, leading the way for the squad in that statistic. Mate also recorded nine points and 

had two goals this season as well.

Ellie Shurman patrolled the midfield for Edward Waters this season, finishing the year with seven goals, third on the Lady Tigers roster. Shurman also had 15 points on the year 

and recorded 17 total shots on goal.
