City of Brooksville issued the following announcement on Dec. 15.
The City of Brooksville’s Art Gallery Coordinator, Pedram Moghaddam, announces a “Call for Artists’ for the upcoming exhibit “In with the New” exhibit. Mr. Moghaddam invites artists to submit 3-5 pieces of your artwork painted or created as you transcend into the future. A free form work of art with a perception of what is to come. This is a time for a new reflection of where you see yourself and/or life itself headed.
Or maybe a new piece you have been holding back from showing. Now is the Time! Here is your chance to let go of old stagnant habits and make some space for a new light.
This is your chance to hone into your creativity and shine, set the record straight, bebold, or even reserved by expressing the subtleties. Dazzle the community with your individual style and/or mastered techniques! Anything goes - fun pieces, serious pieces or your favorite style/era (cubist, impressionist, expressionist etc.). Just work the concept of “New” and whatever it means to you, name your work after the inspiration. For example, you may be a figurative artist but you could incorporate new abstract stylistic elements, a new preferred technique, or clues which can suggest a new approach to art, community, life, thinking, and working. Yes, these concepts can be part of the resolution list you have been making to bring “In the New”.
All mediums are welcome including three dimensional (3D). All artwork should be gallery ready, with wire securely attached to the back or bottom of the art; display cases are available to secure smaller items. Artist cards should be attached to each piece with the name of the artist, medium used and price. If the piece is not for sale, that must be stipulated as well. Student work is welcome.
The artwork must be submitted Monday - Friday (01/03/2022 - 01/07/2022),from 10:30am-2:30pm. The “In with the New” Exhibit will run from January 21, 2022 through March 18, 2022. The kick-off reception will be Friday, January 21,2022, from 5:30 to7:30pm, music and refreshments will be provided.
