Hernando County issued the following announcement on Dec. 19.
Got burnt-out or broken bulbs?
Bulbs, specifically incandescent, are not accepted curbside or at any Hernando County recycling drop-off center. Simply throw these bulbs into the trash.
We suggest putting them into their original packaging or a small plastic bag before throwing them away, so the glass won’t shatter and hurt someone. Fluorescent lights are considered a hazardous waste item and must be disposed of at one of the three solid waste facilities. Visit www.HernandoCounty.us/SolidWaste for all drop-off locations!
