The Brooksville Blueberry Festival became the "Brooksville" Blueberry Festival in 2018 when local business owner, John Lee, took over the reins. Due to the pandemic, the event was not held in 2020 or 2021. Fortunately, however, as tradition prevails, this event is being held the last weekend in April to coincide with the local blueberry season, making this year’s event dates Saturday, April 23, 2022, and Sunday, April 24, 2022. The festival has grown significantly this year with 330 vendors booked, up from 156 vendors in 2019 with 25,000 attendees.

The event is well known for its Blueberry Lane which includes ‘all things Blueberry’ from Blueberry pie, cobbler, shortcake and cheesecake, loose fresh Blueberries and Blueberry plants to Blueberry Beer and wine. Continuous live musical entertainment is planned for the bandshell located at Hernando Park located at 205 E. Fort Dade on Saturday, April 23, 2022, beginning at 12:00 pm until 10:00 pm and Sunday, April 24, 2022, beginning at 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm. A wide variety of food will be also be available as well other vendors and the event will include a kid’s zone and the all new Cowboy Circus making this a fun event for the entire family.
