The NJCAA Division I Softball Committee recently announced their selections for the 2022 NJCAA DI Softball All-America Teams and two College of Central Florida Patriots players made it on there. Outfielder Gianna Guerriero earned Second Team All-American honrs and pitcher Savannah Barnett earned Third Team All-American honors. This is the second concective year for Guerriero to be honored as an All-American.
Both players had stellar seasons for the Patriots. Guerriero was the spark for the offense as their lead off hitter and slashed .463 batting average, .505 on base percentage, and .797 slugging percentage along with leading the team in home runs with 11 and runs with 59. She was third in doubles with 14 and also stole 40 bases.
Barnett was the team leader on the mound starting 31 games. She pitched 193 innings and had a 22-8 record. Her ERA was under two at 1.99 and she struck out 189 batters on the season while only giving up 55 runs and 134 hits.
