Deborah Bostic named CEO of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill

Deborah Bostic has been appointed as chief executive officer of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Spring Hill. In her position as CEO, Bostic oversees all of the day-to-day operations, as well as patient care and quality, at the 80-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 12440 Cortez Blvd. in Brooksville, Florida. She assumed the position in February 2022.

“Deborah brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to our health system, including more than three decades of clinical and healthcare leadership experience, and I am excited to welcome her to her new role as CEO of Encompass Health of Spring Hill,” said Lori Bedard, President of Encompass Health’s Southeast region. “Deborah is a compassionate leader who simultaneously provides value-based results while inspiring others, and I am confident in her vision for the new hospital.”

Bostic brings 32 years of industry experience to the Encompass Health leadership team. She most recently served as chief operating officer of Owensboro Health, a 477-bed regional referral medical center. In this role as a senior executive leader for all division operations, she was responsible for oversight of patient care delivery, information technologies, and new business development to achieve quality and performance goals. During her five-year tenure, she established a new observation unit to assist in an expedited emergency department throughput for patients, implemented a productivity management system, and developed several new healthcare programs and services. Prior to her role at Owensboro Health, Bostic served as senior vice president and chief nursing officer at LifePoint Health – St. Francis in Columbus, Georgia. In this role, Bostic was responsible for operational leadership for all inpatient and outpatient clinical departments, business development and program development. From 2000 to 2010, Bostic held various executive positions at Sacred Heart Health System in Pensacola, Florida, where she led efforts to increase fiscal and operational outcomes. She previously served as Chief Nursing Officer for Santa Rosa Medical Center in Milton, Florida, and Director of Business Development for Women’s Services at Baptist Hospital in Pensacola.

Bostic earned both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing from the University of South Alabama. She has served in many leadership roles within professional and community organizations, including the American College of Healthcare Executives, the American Organization of Nurse Executives, Florida Healthcare Association’s Advocacy Committee, and previously served as the American Heart Association Heart Walk Chair.
