EWU Unveils 2022 Women's Soccer Schedule

Third year head coach Stephen Peck, Jr. has unveiled the 2022 schedule for the Edward Waters women's soccer squad. 2022 will mark the third season of women's soccer as a varsity sport at EWU, since the program was instituted in 2020.

2021 was a year of firsts for the young program as the Lady Tigers set new program records in wins, finishing 6-7 overall and goals, recording 53 on the season. Edward Waters notched the program's first ever win on August 27th, recording a 3-2 road victory over Columbia College in South Carolina. The Lady Tigers also went on a four match winning streak, recording wins over Florida National, Florida Memorial, Allen, and at Trinity Baptist.

Four of the teams' top five leading goal scorers return in 2022 for Edward Waters, led by leading goal scorer in forward Queen Moore. The Northeast Florida native made the most of her freshman season, recording 11 goals and 24 points in 2021. Sophomore Ellie Shurman was third on the quad with seven goals, while both senior Jianna Jones and junior Rayven Norman had five goals apiece for EWU.

The Lady Tigers will open the 2022 schedule on the road, participating in the Columbus State University Invitational on August 26th & 28th. EWU will face Christian Brothers on the 26th, then will battle West Alabama on the 28th.

Edward Waters will open September on the road in Albany, Georgia against Albany State on the 5th at 4:00pm. The Purple & Orange will open up the home portion of their schedule on September 8th as they will host the Lions of St. Leo University at 4:00pm at Glover Community Field & Stadium. The Lady Tigers will then hit the road for the last time in the month on September 11th in Thomasville, Georgia against Thomas University at 2:00pm. Following that, EWU will begin a four game homestand, starting on the 14th against Florida Southern at 7:00pm. On the 21st, the Lady Tigers will welcome rival Florida Memorial at 7:00pm, then on the 23rd EWU will host the Conquistadors of Florida National at 4:00pm. Edward Waters will have their final home contest of the season on September 27th against local rival Trinity Baptist at 7:00pm.

The month of October will see EWU have eight matches, all away from Jacksonville. The extended road trip begins on October 5th down in Lakeland, Florida against Florida Southern, then on the 7th in Tampa Bay against Florida College. Edward Waters will then head up I-95 to Columbia, South Carolina to battle AME rival Allen University on October 16th. The Purple & Orange will then head to Winston-Salem, North Carolina for two matches. On the 19th, the Lady Tigers will face Lincoln University of Pennsylvania in a neutral site match, followed by a contest against Carolina University on the 21st. EWU will head down south on October 25th against Florida Memorial, before wrapping up the regular season in Raleigh, North Carolina for two matches. On the 29th, Edward Waters will face Shaw University, then the season will end on October 31st in a neutral site matchup against Bluefield State.
