Edward Waters took their talents to North Alabama on Sunday as they took part in the 2023 KMS invitational at the Birmingham CrossPlex.
The Purple & Orange efforts on the track were led by Kody Gibbs who finished 4th in the 200m, finishing in a time of 22.75. Gibbs also added a 13th place finish in the 60m at 7.13. Jaquan McCants placed 10th in the 400m (52.33), Jourdan Bell finished 7th in the 600m (1:28.74), and Juan Osorio finished 16th in the 3000m (11.18). The EWU 4x100m "A" team of Jaquan McCants, Tito Bethel, Taleo Bethel, and Kody Gibbs placed 3rd in the event., crossing the line at 1:33.52.
In field events, Jaquan McCants placed 7th in the Long Jump (6.33m/20' 9.25"), Taleo Bethel placed 8th in the Triple Jump (12.44m/40' 9.75"), and Andrew Powers placed 16th in the Shot Put (10.85m/35' 7.25").

The squad will next head to Mobile, Alabama to take part in the USA Jaguar Invitational, hosted by the University of South Alabama on Sunday, February 5th.
