Hernando County School District recently issued the following announcement.
Worldwide, more than 2,000 schools participate in the AP Capstone Diploma from College Board each year.The AP Capstone Diploma program is a rigorous academic undertaking that helps high school students developcritical thinking, research, collaboration, and presentation skills that are critical to academic success.
District-wide, 195 students earned scholar designation and 5 Hernando students earned the coveted APCapstone Diploma.
"Advanced Placement courses are important gateways for students. Whether they plan to go on to college orenter the workforce, taking college-level classes and mastering critical thinking and research skills buildsconfidence and prepares them for success beyond high school," said Gina Michalicka, Assistant Superintendent of Teaching & Learning. "Congratulations to these AP students and their teachers for achieving scholar honors."
