City of Brooksville recently issued the following announcement.
The City of Brooksville is seeking applicants for the volunteer position of the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Citizen's Advisory Task Force (CATF). The purpose of
CDBG CATF is to provide input on all phases of the Small Cities Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) application project process. The CATF meets, at least one time, to
discuss community needs and make recommendations as to the program area and activities that should be considered when drafting the grant application and prior to the public
hearings. Prior to submitting the grant application, one public hearing is held to discuss community needs and a second public hearing is held to discuss the proposed CDBG
application, including the specific proposed activities and the funding being requested. The composition of the board includes five (5) voting members and one (1) alternate who
would vote in the absence of a voting member and serve four-year terms and will meet when necessary to fulfill grant requirements. The CATF shall be comprised of citizens in the
jurisdiction in which the proposed project is to be implemented established by the local government and comprised of at least three (3) residents of the jurisdiction, none of which
shall be elected officials and no more than one (1) employee of the local government. Members must be City residents and must be registered voters in the State of Florida. A
background check will be required on any applicant. An application form and survey may be obtained from the office of the City Clerk and must be completed and submitted to the
City Clerk’s Office at 201 Howell Ave., Brooksville, by August 31, 2021. Contact the City of Brooksville (352) 540-3810 with any questions.
